Cooper Obit PicRebecca Anne Cooper, 37, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2014.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Grace Fellowship Church in Borger with Pastor Tim Hall officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Ms. Cooper was born and raised in Borger.  She was a graduate of Borger High School and Amarillo College, where she received her nursing degree, with honors.

She was a Registered Nurse, and worked in the surgery units of Golden Plains Community Hospital in Borger, Pampa Regional Medical Center, Northwest Texas Hospital and the Surgery Center on Soncy in Amarillo.

She recently had moved to Hale Center and worked in the healthcare field in Lubbock.  She began her medical career as an operating room surgical technologist.

She was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church.  Becca enjoyed spending time with her sons, and with her dogs.

She was preceded by her grandmother, Edna Stutzman of Amarillo.

Survivors include two sons, Gavin and Mason Cooper of Borger; her father, Dennis Burton of Hale Center; her mother, Lisa Parkhurst of Weatherford, TX; a sister, Elizabeth Winks and husband Gary of Borger; and grandparents, Joe and Lila Swann of Amarillo, and James Burton of Lady Lake, Fla.

  1. Dennis, Joe Don and I are praying that God’s Grace will be sufficient during the coming days. We know that you have years of sweet memories to recall. We are acquainted with the loss of a child and it isn’t easy. Love and prayers for all family of Rebecca.

    I am so sorry for your loss, and it is so difficult to express the appropriate words of feelings. I have a wonderful memory of Becca when she and your mom visited with me in San Antonio. We had a laughing good time. I love you, dear cousin. I am only a phone call away.

  34. I remember Becca from a young age when my mom babysat in our home. She lit up the room with her beautiful smile and caring heart. I recently saw her in Amarillo and to my surprise ,she remembered my mom and said how sweet she was. I pray for peace in your heart through this difficult time.
