Riley Obit PicCarrie Lou Riley, 87, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2015, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard K. Batson, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be private.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Carrie Lou Riley was born in Old Mobeetie on the 23rd of January 1928, to Rufus Park Morris and Willie Maxine Ellis Morris.  She grew up in Canadian and graduated from Canadian High School.  She attended West Texas State College.  She met Jack Riley between semesters and after a three-month engagement, the two were married in September 1947.  That same year the couple moved to Lubbock so Jack could attend Texas Tech University.  The next year they moved back to Canadian and Jack returned to a lifelong career with Santa Fe Railroad.  In 1954, they moved to Amarillo where they raised their family.

Carrie was a devoted wife and mother who adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; a brother, R.P. Morris, Jr.; two sisters, Glenna Schultz and Georgia Leigh Isaacs; and a great-granddaughter, Kinley Grace Riley.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Lynn Gunnels, of Irving; two sons, Jack Lee Riley and wife Shelly and Shawn Nelson Riley and wife Susan, all of Amarillo.  Additional survivors include a brother-in-law, Quinten Isaacs; two grandsons, Ryan Gunnels and Johnathan Riley; four granddaughters, Sarah Milford, Ashley Bichard, Caroline Riley, and Georgia Riley; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 30, 2015, at the funeral home.
