Derek Andrew Klein, 22, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015.  Klein Obit Pic

Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Memorial mass will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at St. Mary’s Cathedral.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Derek was born Feb. 15, 1993, in Wichita, Kansas to Brian and Rana Klein.  He graduated from Amarillo High School in 2011 and attended Texas Tech University.  He loved playing several instruments, listening to music, hiking and spending time with his friends. Derek was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Survivors include his mother, Rana Davis and husband Freddie, of Amarillo; his father, Brian Klein of Amarillo; three sisters, Ashley Scott, Nicole Klein and Kira Klein, all of Amarillo; and his grandparents, Larry and Kathleen Klein of Garden Plain, Kan. and Harvey and Doris Scott of Derby, Kan.

    I am so sorry to hear about Derek. No words can convey how saddened I am for your loss. I cannot imagine any wound cutting as deeply as the loss of a child. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
