Beulah Mae Bonam – January 21, 2018

On January 21, 2018, Mother Beulah Mae Bonam transitioned from this life to her home in glory with her family at her side.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Emmanuel Temple, 900 N. Adams St.  Officiating will be Elder Mal Carr of Prayer Temple C.O.G.I.C.  Eulogist will be Pastor Elisha L. Demerson, Pastor of Emmanuel Temple.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mother Bonam was born August 8, 1917, in Paris, Texas to Bertha Cochran and was later adopted by Ida Mae and Jim McCoy. Beulah attended public schools in Paris, Texas. She later moved to Omaha, Nebraska and married Tilman Bonam Jr.  To this union were born three children, DeWayne Frank, Kevin Foster Sr. and Lauretta Michelle.

The family moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1976.  Beulah was employed by Jack B. and Hazel Kelley, until her retirement in 1998.

Beulah accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She loved the Lord and prayed for her family faithfully. She attended Emmanuel Temple whenever her health would permit her to do so. Beulah loved doing yard work and having beautiful flowers. She loved cooking for her family and she loved fried chicken. She liked shopping for beautiful clothes and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. Beulah had a heart of gold and she loved people.

Beulah was preceded in death by her husband Tilman Bonam Jr; and a great-granddaughter Jordyn Arlene Bonam.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons DeWayne Frank (Denise) of Omaha Nebraska, Kevin Foster Sr. (Chris) of Amarillo, Texas; daughter Elder Lauretta Michelle Shaffer of Amarillo, Texas; Five grandsons, DeWayne, Dion, Darrelle, Kevin Jr, Edward Jr.; granddaughter Jaleisa; seven great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, and special friends, Larry and Sharon Oeschger and family

Wake will be at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
