Bobby Barnett Jones – March 28, 2012

Bobby Barnett Jones, 58, of Dalhart, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Danny Pritchett, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. Jones was born on May 15, 1953 in Amarillo, Texas to Helen and Billie Bob Jones.  He worked in the lumber business in Amarillo and then moved to Lancaster and worked for the Wiener Lumber Co. where he was named Businessman of the Year in 1983.  Mr. Jones then moved to San Antonio and became the operations director for the Salvation Army in the Austin/San Antonio areas.  After being disabled in 2006, he moved to Dalhart.  He was a Christian.

He is survived by his mother, Helen Jones, of Dalhart, TX; two sons, Michael Nelson Jones and wife Natasha of New York City, NY and Christopher Brian Jones of Amarillo; two daughters, Amy Michelle Jones and Elaine Suzanne Jones, both of Amarillo; four sisters, Rickye Burch and husband Ronnie of Keller, TX; Leigh Anne Honaker of Cleburne, TX; Mickye Pritchett and husband Danny of Dalhart, TX; and Tammye Pettit and husband Donny of Dalhart, TX; two brothers, Billy “B. J.” Jones of Arlington, TX and Kevin Ray Jones of Venus, TX; and eight grandchildren.

    So sorry to hear of Bobby’s death. I will miss seeing him working in the yard and doing all he could to make he neighborhood pretty. I appreciate him watering my mothers yard. Rest in peace. Cheryl Carter Ricketson

    To the family this is truly a sad time, but take comfort from the scriptures . Jesus said that all in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. (John 5:28,29). A beautiful future to look forward to. Please read Isaiah 25:8 Revelation 21:3-5
