Carl Vincent Simpson – November 18, 2011


Carl Vincent Simpson, 86, of Amarillo died Friday, November 18, 2011.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Stephen United Methodist Church, 4600 S. Western St. in Amarillo, Texas with Dr. Jim Smith officiating.   Burial will be at Llano Cemetery with Military Rites by DAV Chapter 26. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Carl was born in the family home in Hemphill County, Texas.  He graduated from Briscoe High School and served in the Navy in WWII.  He was employed at Amarillo Hardware Co. for 38 years, and he worked at Bell Appliance for several years after retiring.  Mr. and Mrs. Simpson met and married at Polk Street Methodist Church.  They were members of Pleasant Valley Methodist church and then charter members of Saint Stephen United Methodist Church.
Carl was known for his servant’s heart.  If you needed anything fixed, Carl would gladly help you out.  He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Audean Simpson; his son, David Carl Simpson; his brothers, Paul Simpson and Earl Simpson; and his granddaughter, Misty Ann Simpson.
He is survived by his son, Daniel Arthur Simpson of Amarillo; daughter, Deanna Lynn Henry; son-in-law, David Harold Henry; grandsons, Matthew Carl Henry and Stefan Arthur Henry, all of Yardley, PA; and many nephew, nieces and close friends.
The family suggests memorials be sent to Saint Stephen United Methodist Church, 4600 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
