Derek Wade Brewster, 37, of Amarillo, died Thursday, July 11, 2013.

Memorial services will be at 4:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Church of Christ at The Colonies, with Dick Marcear officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Derek was born June 25, 1976, in Amarillo, to Keith and Judy Brewster. He graduated from Amarillo High School. He married Leslie George on August 24, 2002, in Amarillo.  He had worked as a paramedic at Amarillo Medical Service for almost 15 years. He had been the director of the Pampa EMS and was currently a paramedic at Boys Ranch.

Survivors include his wife, Leslie Brewster, of the home; a son, Dylan Brewster, of the home; his parents, Keith and Judy Brewster of Amarillo; a brother, Ryan Brewster and wife Lauren of Amarillo; a sister, Berkley Brewster of Amarillo; his in-laws, Tom and Nancy George of Hereford; and his grandmother, Wilma Maxine Brewster of San Antonio.

The family suggests memorials be made to benefit Dylan Brewster in care of Amarillo National Bank, P.O. Box 1, Amarillo, TX 79105.

    While working in Pampa Derek responded several times to my brothers home. Derek also visited him in the ICU. He was such a caring person heart and soul. I was so sadden to hear of his passing. Derek will be missed by all who knew him. Thoughts and Prayers to his family.
