Donald Hugh Wetmore, 88, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 23, 2016.Wetmore Obit Pic
Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2016, in St. Francis Catholic Church. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016, in St. Francis Catholic Church with Father John Dalton as celebrant. Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Donald was born April 17, 1928, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin to Roy and Lillian Wetmore. He enlisted in the Navy on Nov. 14, 1945. Donald married Gladys Reynolds on July 8, 1950 in Mishicot, Wisconsin. They moved to Amarillo in 1974. Donald was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Donald had many names, Don, Bingo, Tiger, and his favorite was dad and grandpa. His hobbies were cooking, gardening, wood working and best of all making wine. He enjoyed all of that but the thing that made him the happiest was spending time with his family. He felt his family was his greatest accomplishment.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Gladys Wetmore, of Amarillo; five daughters, Kay Fronk, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Nancy Vander Bloomen, of Two Rivers, Lynn Deardorff and Shelly Knudtson, both of Amarillo, and Mary Burger, of Edmond, Oklahoma; three sons, David Wetmore, Daniel Wetmore and Richard Wetmore, all of Amarillo; a sister, Sharon Strohm, of Kenosha, Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

  2. Thoughts and prayers going out to the Wetmore Family. I enjoyed taking care of Don even for just the month that he was in my facility that i work in. God Bless you
