Ima Gene became a Christian at an early age and lived to serve others. She was a devoted Memaw to her grandchildren, who were the light of her world. Family was precious to her, and she shared a special bond with all of her siblings and their families. She maintained close friendships with childhood companions throughout her life. She was a caring and compassionate teacher who loved children. Ima Gene was an active and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Clovis and was an active member of WMU at her church. She was also active in the Curry County Extension Club and enjoyed many artistic hobbies, completing an Associate of Arts degree at Clovis Community College.

A celebration of life and reception is scheduled in Dallas on December 2nd. Nephews Ron Roach and Dick Roach will officiate the ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a favorite charity.

The family would like to thank caregivers and staff of Hillside Heights, BSA Hospice, Vivian’s Nursing Home, Windmill Village, and Boxwell Brothers for the love, compassion, and care provided to Mrs. Swinney and her family.
