James R. Boyd – September 12, 2011

James R. Boyd, 70, of Fritch, died Monday, September 12, 2011.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 15, 2011 in Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel.   Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery.  Military Rites are by American Legion Post 224.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.

Mr. Boyd was born on November 24, 1940 in Dumas, TX to J.L. and Pearl Boyd.  He married Lyn Crow on November 4, 1966 in Clayton, New Mexico.  He worked for over thirty-three years at Colorado Interstate Gas retiring as superintendent.

Survivors include his wife, Lyn Boyd, of Fritch; sons, Dusty Boyd and wife D’Ann of Panhandle, TX, Damon Boyd and wife Kira of White Deer, TX and Corey Boyd of Bushland, TX; sisters, Vivian McCann of Amarillo and Jean Ward of Dumas, TX; grandchildren, Becca, Lana, Callie, Brady and Tanner.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Gina and the staff at Heritage Convalescent Center.

    Bo-Bo and I were in high school together and graduated together in 1959 in Dumas. Many fond- memories of classes together. May God greatly bless you in this chapter of your life as only He can do ~ been there, done this 9-years ago myself. He will strengthen, comfort and hold you through as well as children and grandchildren.

    I arrived in this world the day before Bo did, which was the only time I was ahead of him in anything. We spent many hours together in school and football, and then we went our separate ways after high school. I have never forgotten him.
