Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2017, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Jimmy was born March 2, 1943 in Grandfield, Oklahoma to Maurice “Mac” and Melba McCartor.

Jimmy graduated Tascosa High School in 1961, and received a B.S. degree at W.T. in 1966 and did post graduate work at Texas Tech in 1967. He worked for Texas Dept. of Agriculture and later for Lawrence Systems and then Collateral Control, Inc.

He enjoyed watching car races, football, and taking family fishing in Colorado. He and wife, Ginger, enjoyed dealings in antiques and collecting history memorabilia and traveling through much of the United States.  He was a fine Christian man with a fun sense of humor and generous nature.  He has been surrounded by friends, a big extended family, and a beloved pet named Mona.

He was preceded in death by his father, “Mac” McCartor and a brother, Bob McCartor.

Survivors include his wife Ginger, married 51 years; his mother, Melba McCartor; daughters, Jill McLean and husband Brett and Jennifer McCartor; three grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law that he loved as his own siblings.
