Judy Mae (Parkhill) Malone – October 26, 2017

Judy Parkhill Malone, 93, of Clarendon passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Joannie Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Claude Cemetery following the memorial services.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Judy was born at home in Gainesville to Ernest and Ava Sullivan Parkhill. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, U. L. Parkhill, Ferrell Parkhill, and Billy Parkhill; and one sister, Sunshine Hudson; and one infant son.

Judy married L. J. (Buddy) Malone in Amarillo on September 20, 1941, and they were married for over 60 years. He preceded her in death in 2002.  We honor our father and our mother.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Claude.

In Amarillo, Judy and her best friend Evelyn Drake walked together and shared visits for many years.

A mother’s love for her family is never ending. The nearest thing to the love of God is the love of a mother’s heart.

Judy was caring and courageous and loved by her three children, Judy Hodges and husband Bill of Clarendon, Jerry Malone of Pearland and Jada Garrett and husband Steve of Amarillo; her four grandchildren, Michele Malone, Melissa Richardson and husband Danny, Ty Garrett and wife Casey, Bryce Garrett and wife Brittani; and six great-grandchildren, Taylor Styles, Jadyn Richardson, Stryker Garrett, Gracelyn Garrett, Maverick Garrett, and Amelia Garrett.

Judy had many great nicknames including Buttercup. She loved poetry and growing roses.

Thank you and many blessings to all of the individuals who cared for her.
