Adams Obit PicLaura Lee Adams, 91, of Claude, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2016.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Claude Cemetery with the Rev. Sean Smith, pastor of United Methodist Church, in Claude.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Laura Lee was born May 3, 1925, in Panhandle, to Charles and Mabel Russ.  She was a member of United Methodist Church in Claude where she sang in the choir.  Laura was a volunteer at the Armstrong County Museum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Adams, in 1982; a grandson, Sam Adams; and a great-granddaughter, Lily Anna Woolery.

Survivors include a daughter, Cherry Marshall and husband Lanny, of Amarillo; two sons, Jackie Adams and wife Kitty, of Claude and Maury Adams and wife Amy, of Hereford; three sisters, Maurine Russ, of Panhandle, Ola Faye Hinsey of Silverton, Ore., and Mary Sue Triplett, of Claude; a brother, Charley Russ, of Panhandle; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to Armstrong County Museum, The Armstrong County Museum, 120 N. Trice, Claude, Texas 79019; or to United Methodist Church, 400 Trice St, Claude, TX 79019.

    So sorry for your loss. Mrs. Adams was one of those sweet ladies always willing to help if she could. She knew Claude and it’s history very well, sharing information often tending to the Claude Museum when others were busy. What a lovely lady who loved her family and friends very much. I will never forget her.
