Lewis Lindegren – April 11, 2017

Lewis Lindegren, 75, of Amarillo died Tuesday, April 11, 2017.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in St. Paul United Methodist Church.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Lewis was born Jan. 8, 1942, in San Pedro, California to John Arthur and Elinor Lindegren.  He graduated from Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles and graduated from San Fernando Valley State College.  Lewis served honorably in the Air Force with a tour of duty in Vietnam.

He worked at Pantex as a graphic artist, and as safety officer at Idaho National Engineering Laboratory and Rocky Flats Plant in Denver. Following retirement in 2003, he moved to Amarillo.

Lewis served as a Civil Air Patrol Officer, a Scoutmaster and a soccer coach.  He loved the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Paul R. Moen; and a sister, Nancy Ostermaier.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Lindegren, of the home; two sons, Jason Lindegren and wife Stephanie Lin and John Lindegren and wife Sarah; two sisters, Barb Pace and Elaine Leiker; his stepmother, Martha Lindegren; and 9 grandchildren, Christopher, Austin, Sean, Berkley, Jon, Joshua, Nathan, Robert and Samuel.

    We were Fraternity Brothers at Valley State
    Although we lost touch, I always think of those happy days.
