Holliday Obit PicMildred Ruth Holliday, 94, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 28, 2016.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016, in Llano Cemetery with Dr. Chester O’Brien officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mildred was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Morrilton, Arkansas to Holbert Lee and Evelyn Ruth Bartlett.  She graduated San Angelo High School where she met the love of her life, her husband J.M. “Bill” Holliday. Bill and Mildred have been residents of Amarillo since 1951.

She was an avid bowler, seamstress and she enjoyed ceramics.  Above all she was a wonderful mother to her children.  She believed in the Lord and has faithfully awaited this day to be reunited again with husband, Bill, whom she was married to for 67 years.  All who knew Mildred are welcome to attend graveside services.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Edmondson and husband Ron, of Amarillo; two sons, Robby Holliday of Amarillo and Larry Holliday and wife Terry of Dallas; three grandchildren, Cary Edmondson and wife Beth, Kyle Edmondson and wife Michelle, both of Amarillo and Cory Edmondson and wife Angie, of Midland; 11 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to SPCA, 11901 S. Coulter, Amarillo, TX 79119; or Faith City Mission, 401 SE 2nd Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101.

    Mildred was one of the most loving and compassionate people I have had the privilege to know. She was a blessing in my life and will be dearly missed.
