Peggy Lee Nunn – January 11, 2018

Peggy Lee Nunn, 92, of Amarillo died Thursday, January 11, 2018.

Services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, January 15, 2018, in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Jim Shelburne officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2018, at the funeral home.

Peggy was born June 22, 1925, in Hill, Oklahoma to Hoyt and Fairie Turner.  She worked as a legal secretary, retiring from Mesa Petroleum in 1987.  Peggy was a very talented and inspirational porcelain artist and was a long time member of the Amaryllis Porcelain Art Club.

Peggy was a member of First Baptist Church for 50 years.  She married Russell E. “Gene” Nunn on June 9, 1946, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  They had four beautiful daughters to whom Peggy was a loving and devoted mother.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Jackie Lynn Nunn Hogue and Linda Jeanne Nunn Causey.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Russell E. “Gene” Nunn, of Amarillo; two daughters, Diana Trook and husband Dennis, of Amarillo and Joyce Leavitt, of Lewisville; a sister, Patsy Bradshaw, of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

    Sending my sympathies to the entire Nunn family. I have such wonderful memories of Mrs. Nunn. She was such a sweet, loving lady. Over the 40 plus years since I have seen Diana, whenever I think of Diana and her family, it is always with a smile. Love and prayers Diana.
