Sue Cavin Bowen – September 29, 2016

bowen-obit-picSue Cavin Bowen passed away on Sept. 29, 2016, in Dallas, Texas.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Sue was born in Wellington, Texas on Sept. 30, 1931, grew up in various towns in the Panhandle, and graduated from Amarillo High School.

She started her career as an operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, did some modeling, then pursued her love of travel as a flight attendant with Braniff Airways.  She married Guyle Cavin in 1957 and enjoyed being a mother to her daughter, Kelly, and her son, Michael.  Sue and Guyle owned Southwest Pork Feedlot supplying pork to Jimmy Dean Foods.  Following the death of Guyle, Sue had a successful career in real estate ultimately earning her professional certification as a realtor.  In 1984, she married James Bowen.

She loved her family, golf, painting, watching the Dallas Cowboys, playing bridge with her friends and Milky Way candy bars.

She is survived by her extended family of Kelly Cavin, Michael Cavin, granddaughter, Candice Cavin, Kayla Cooley, Denise Cable, Ken Cable and grandchildren, Blake Cable, Randa Kirchner and her husband Dalen Kirchner, her great-grandchildren, Autumn and Will Kirchner and sisters-in-law, Kay Bynum, and Edna Watkins Fortman.  She was blessed with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, their families and many lifelong friends.
