Thomas James Peyton – January 17, 2018

Thomas James Peyton,  65,  of Amarillo died Wednesday January 17th, 2018.  

“Tom” was born June 5, 1952 to Kenneth Francis John Peyton and Corinne Annabelle Larson Peyton both preceding him in death.   Also preceding him  in death was his infant son, Kevin James Peyton and his brother, Kenneth Daniel “Dan” Peyton.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years,  Deborah  Farmer Peyton and his two loving daughters Mareesa Peyton Hernandez of Graham, Texas and Alicia Peyton of Amarillo.  He has six grand children Micah, Brianna, Seth, Anthony, Ashley, and Isabella.

He is also survived by his sister,  Debby Tillman  and nieces Deidra Tillman, Derinda  Tillman, and nephew, Gary Tillman of Amarillo and his aunt,   Leila Burrus of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Tom was an amateur astronomer and served as president of the Amarillo Astronomy Club for several years.   He loved building radios from scratch.  He was the last surviving member of The Red, White, and Blue Band and loved playing his guitar.  He was an avid “Grateful Dead” fan.

He went to Tascosa High School and finished at Alamo Catholic High School.

Tom was retired and lived at Independence Village where he had good friends and enjoyed the last year of his life.

Tom was buried Friday January 19th at a private family graveside service at Llano Cemetery.
