Berry Obit PicToni Darlene Raef Berry, 57, of Amarillo, died Friday, May 27, 2016.

Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Rite of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday in St Mary’s Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Toni was born in Amarillo, Texas on August 24, 1958 to John and Marjorie Raef.  She was the youngest of six children.  After Toni graduated from Palo Duro High school in Amarillo, Texas, she began her career as an insurance specialist.  Her final position was in the Benefits Department for the City of Amarillo as an Administrative Assistant V, where she had worked for the past 10 years.

She was a very active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral where she served faithfully as a Proclaimer of God’s Word, an Extra-Ordinary Eucharistic Minister, a Sacristan and a Greeter.  Toni loved her Lord and was devoted to serving her Church and others.

One of her favorite activities was dancing and she enjoyed going to some of the Singles groups and their activities.  She was an avid reader and loved people, her broad smile could light up a room.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Dorothy Graham and Patricia Belcher.

Survivors include her son, Tyson Stavenhagen, of Kerrville, Texas; three grandchildren, Breken, Brody and Emalyn, her brother, Howard Raef and wife, Joann, two sisters, Linda McCurdy and husband Harmon and Marian Elliott and husband, Art, a brother-in-law, Bobby Belcher, her aunt, Viola Renegar, all of Amarillo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

  1. Toni and I worked together years ago. In the more recent years, she was very helpful with my insurance benefits at City of Amarillo. She lended a much needed shoulder as a friend in the past year. Thanks for all your help Toni.

  2. So sorry to hear of the passing of this very sweet lady. Toni I hope you find peace in the arms of the Lord you loved so much. I will miss you. Prayers for the family at this sad time.

  3. I went to Emerson and Horace Mann with Toni and have a claa picture with Toni right in front…haven’t seen or heard from her since school so sorry to hear of the loss…thoughts and prayers to Toni’s family and R.I.P…Toni.

    1. I think I also went to school with Toni. I moved when we were in 5th grade! I would love to see the picture.
