Toni Janine Sweet – June 11, 2017

Toni Janine Sweet, 62, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 11, 2017.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Rick Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Toni was born on October 27, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas to June and Charles Hudson. She had worked for H&R Block and for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Toni was a member of Seventh Day Adventist.

She married Kent Sweet on April 29, 1981 in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death in 2007.   She was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Michie.

She is survived by a daughter, Amy Bailey and husband Wes of Amarillo; two brothers, Rick Hudson and wife Janet of San Antonio and Alan Hudson and wife Genice of Lubbock; a sister, Sue Hart and husband Bill of Austin; two grandchildren, Baylee Williams and Aaron Williams, both of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Candy Wilbur of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Texas Oncology, Dr. Reddy and Interim Hospice, Tiffany and Jennifer.

The family suggests memorials 24 Hours In the Canyon Cancer Survivorship Center, 4514 B Cornell, Amarillo, TX 79109.

    We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Toni. She was a very sweet lady. We will always remember her for the precious gift she gave us in our little Rusty. He is the sweetest little dog we could ever ask for! We will always be grateful to her for allowing us to be the lucky ones to adopt him! Please accept our condolences to all of your family.

    I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my friend, Toni Hudson Sweet. Though I haven’t seen her in years, we were best friends through high school. I will forever remember the fun times we had. She was a great friend and a very loving person.
