Wanda Sue Satterfield – October 17, 2016

Wanda Sue Satterfield, 82, of Sunray, died Monday, October 17, 2016.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Sunray United Methodist Church with Rev. David McGaughy, pastor, satterfield-obit-photoofficiating.  Burial will be at Lane Memorial Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.

Wanda was born on August 8, 1934 in Soper, Ok. to Willie and Minnie McKee.  She attended Antlers High School in Oklahoma.  She had worked for and cleaned the Sunray United Methodist Church for many years.  She was very strong willed, strong minded, and had a heart of gold.

She married Wayland Gale Satterfield on August 25, 1951 in DeQueen, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Paula Satterfield; and a sister, Genoma Morrow.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Reed and husband Bob of Odessa, Pat Huckaby and Lan Skains of Brownfield; a son-in law, James Huckaby of Seguin, Texas; two sons, Darrall Satterfield and wife Kelly of Dumas, Greg Satterfield and wife Leona of Sunray; two brothers, Stacy McKee and wife Jan, Troy McKee and wife Patsy, all of Antlers, Ok., a sister, Virginia Hammons of Antlers, Ok.; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

The family will be at 1011 Hwy. Ave. and suggests memorials be sent to the Sunray United Methodist Church 610 Ave. L, Sunray, Texas  79086.

    Greg and Leona, your Mom was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met as a caregiver. I got to know her while making home visits for your Dad’s lab draws. I know her sweet spirit now rests with our Heavenly father.
