Pletcher Obit Pic (2)William Ernest “Bill” Pletcher, Jr., 68, of Amarillo, formerly of Perryton, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., today in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, in Ochiltree County Cemetery in Perryton. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Bill was born May 24, 1945, in Lake Forest, IL to William and Mildred Pletcher. He graduated from Perryton High School in 1963. He attended West Texas State and graduated from Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo. He served in the Marines. He worked for Diamond Shamrock, Kimberly Clark, Kraft Foods, farmed in Perryton, was a stock broker, and was county treasurer for Ochiltree County.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Janie Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Delia Pletcher of the home; his mother, Mildred Pletcher of Amarillo; his children, Matt Pletcher and wife Leandy of Johnson City, Melissa Davila and husband Danny of Round Rock, and their mother, Jane Hammerbeck of Georgetown; a brother, John Pletcher and wife Terri of Canyon; two stepsons, Terry Hague and wife Cathy of Perryton and Darren Eddy and wife Tina of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Eddy of Florida; several grandchildren including Millie and Emme; a few great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

The family will receive guests from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Monday, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 310 SE 32nd Ave., in Perryton.

The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX, 79174.
