Louise Herndon Avery – March 14, 2018

Louise Herndon Avery, 87, of Amarillo died Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Louise was born November 4, 1930, in McLean to Charles and Annie Herndon. She married Bobby E. Avery on June 10, 1950, at Clovis, New Mexico.  He preceded her in death in 1996.  Louise was a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, Pat Avery and wife Patty, and Kelly Avery, all of Amarillo; a brother, Darryel Herndon and wife Jane, of McLean; two sisters, Kathleen Reynolds and husband Gerald, of McLean and Natalie Metheni and husband Kenneth, of Bloomfield; and four grandchildren, Patrick, Bobby, Chastity and Sarah; and two great-grandchildren, Trip and Bash.




Ruth Hill Boles – January 26, 2012

Ruth Hill Boles, 83, of McLean, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 in Amarillo.

Private family services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Boles was born Jan. 7, 1929 in Lipscomb County to Walter and Ella Hill.  She loved her family and tracing the family genealogy and compiling the information along with photographs into books for the family.  She loved spending time with family and friends and sharing memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter L. and Ella Hill; her husband, P.J. Boles; four brothers; one sister; and two sons, Walter A. Kirk and Doug Kirk; one daughter, Jonnie Ruth Howard; and two infant granddaughters.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Snyder and husband Robert of North Carolina; a brother, Charley Hill and wife Beverly of Nazareth; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many dear nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to Wolfcreek Heritage Museum, Lipscomb, TX 79056; or to a military veteran’s organization of your choice.
