Alice Louise Paschal

Alice Louise Paschal passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, at the age of 92.

She was born on April 2, 1933, to Edwin and Ethel Favor in Memphis, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Alfred Eli “Bill” Paschal; and her brother, Carroll Favor.

Alice is survived by her son, Kent Paschal and wife Dawn; her daughter, Shari Stone and husband Ricky; her granddaughters, Tiffany Helpert and husband Josh, and Meghan Hobbs and husband Travis; her great-grandchildren, Audrey Hobbs, Ryan Hobbs, Macy Hobbs, and Ryder Hobbs; her sister, Barbara Owens and husband Lynn; and five wonderful nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cherished best friend, Kathy Lisman, whom Alice loved as a daughter, and many friends and loving caregivers at The Ware at Park Central.

Alice and Bill were married on September 10, 1949, in Memphis, Texas, and made their home in Amarillo. She often said, “Her life was him taking care of her.” Their love story began at one of her school skating parties, where Bill offered to help her skate. Though she declined, he gently placed his arm around her waist, and off they went — beginning a lifetime of love and devotion.

Together, Bill and Alice devoted many years to a jail ministry through The Central Church of Christ in Amarillo. With quiet strength and unwavering compassion, they touched countless lives, offering hope, faith, and second chances to those behind bars. Their work extended far beyond the local community, reaching individuals and families across the United States. It was a calling they shared wholeheartedly — a labor of love and service that reflected the depth of their faith and the generosity of their spirits.

A private graveside service will be held at Rowe Cemetery, outside of Hedley, Texas. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

In lieu of flowers, Alice asked that memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to one of the mission works at The Central Church of Christ in Amarillo.
