Arthur Thomas O’Quin

Arthur Thomas O’Quin (Tommy) passed away on December 28, 2023.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Washington Avenue Christian Church, 3800 South Washington, Amarillo, TX with Jim Shelburne officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Tommy was born on February 27, 1952, in Perryton, Texas to Art and Pat O’Quin. He married Regina Fisher in April 1970. They were married for 53 years. Tommy worked for St. Anthony Hospital, then Pioneer Gas at the Turkey Plant. In 1978, he became owner of Acme Body Shop and later purchased Texas Body Shop. He retired in 2012.

Tommy loved Water Skiing, Snow Skiing, and Dune Buggy Riding at the River with his boys. He loved old cars and restoring them. His two favorite places were the mountains with his boys and the Florida Keys as he loved music, palm trees, sand, and the ocean breeze.

Tommy was a kind and generous human who loved everyone he met. He was witty, positive, and always had something funny to say in every situation.

Special thanks to all our family, friends, neighbors, and the amazing Hospice gang that helped us through this long journey.

He is survived by his wife, Regina Fisher O’Quin; son Daniel O’Quin, of Amarillo, TX; daughter-in-law, Misty O’Quin of Amarillo, TX; sisters, Peggy Ables of Amarillo, TX, Brenda and David Boyd of Austin, TX, and Molly Avila of Amarillo, TX; brothers-in-law, Richard Fisher and Haruyo Fisher of Georgetown, TX; grandchildren, Brittany O’Quin, Austin O’Quin, and Race O’Quin all of Amarillo, TX; one great-grandson, Jaxx O’Quin of Amarillo, TX; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia O’Quin; father, Arthur O’Quin; and son, John O’Quin.
