On May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the promises of her faith, Barbara Hearn went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 88 years old.
Born on August 29, 1937, Barbara lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep love of her family, and quiet strength. First and foremost, she loved God and devoted her life to serving Him. Her relationship with Jesus guided every aspect of her life and inspired her passion for missions work, teaching Sunday school, playing piano and organ at church, and sharing God's love with others. Through her servant's heart and faithful example, she touched countless lives and left a lasting legacy of faith.
Family was the greatest blessing of her life. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Julie (husband Jon) Amberg, and her son, Kevin (wife Connie) Hinderliter. Grandkids Cynthia (Michael) Lund, Nathaniel (Liz) Justice, Heather (Luke) Murry, Shawn (Shayla) Hinderliter, and Alison (Christian) Powell. Great-Grandchildren Parker, Kara, Emmett, and Henry Lund, Grayson Justice, Colton, Alex, and Blake Murry, and Alice, Bella, and Nova Powell. Her cherished blended family, son Chuck (wife Lisa) Golden, daughter April Golden, grandchildren Brandi (Shawn) Judd, Kaci (Jarvin) Hall, Charli (Steven) Contreras, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Barbara was known for her independent spirit, quiet determination, and caring heart. She found beauty and joy in life's simple gifts. She loved tending her garden, and creating arts and crafts. In every aspect of her life, Barbara brought warmth and encouragement wherever she went.
Though her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in knowing she is now in the presence of the Savior she loved so dearly. Her faith, strength, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life honoring Barbara and her legacy will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of God in Alva, Oklahoma, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Waynoka Cemetery in Waynoka, Oklahoma, where she will be laid to rest.
