Betty Ann Miser was born on February 4, 1937 in Borger, Texas and passed from this life on May 14, 2026. She attended the historic Phillips High School where she graduated in 1956. After high school, she married Jimmy Lee Miser and together they were blessed with two daughters, Penny Miser Glaesman and Cheryl Miser Olson.
After several years of marriage, Betty found herself raising her two daughters on her own. Though times were often difficult and money was short, she never lost faith that her Savior would provide. She worked hard to support her family, holding several jobs over the years, including salesclerk at The Gift Box and sales representative for Sammons Communications. Even during lean times, Betty faithfully gave a tithe from her earnings to her beloved Calvary Baptist Church, where she also served as Sunday School Secretary for 30 years. No matter how tight things were, she always made sure her girls had new Easter dresses and shoes to wear to church.
Betty was known for her caring and generous heart. Even while facing struggles of her own, she freely gave her time and energy to help others, including Dale Hamilton, Jose McGaughy, and many more too numerous to mention.
She was also never afraid of good old-fashioned hard work. Whether replumbing her own home, using vacation time to repaint her “Aunt Temp’s” house in Lockney, helping restore a Victorian cottage in Mississippi, or helping build an eight-foot perimeter fence around a quarter-acre property in Amarillo, Betty loved working with her hands and using tools. She considered hard work and dirty hands something to be proud of rather than something to avoid.
Later in life, God rewarded her faithful and selfless spirit by opening the door for her to move into Brookdale Medi Park Assisted Living, where she quickly became known for her smile, warm hugs, and sweet spirit. She was voted Resident of the Month June 2025, an honor that brought her tremendous joy. As her family liked to say, “Queen Elizabeth had nothing on her.”
After almost ten years at Brookdale, God called Betty home. One of her final statements was, “I’m tired; I just want my wings.”
Betty Ann is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Lyndon Glaesman, and Cheryl and Joel Olson. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jesse Glaesman and wife Brenda; Stephen Glaesman and wife Rebecca; Joanna Cambern; and Amanda Bean (deceased) and her husband Billy Bean. She leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Carrie and Aiden Glaesman and their mother Raelynne Glaesman; and Preslee and Emersyn Green and their mother Adrianne Fowler; Ben Nicolette and Ellison Glaesman. She was additionally blessed with one great-great-granddaughter, Scarlett Green Dickson.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Evertte and Florean Blackman and her brother, Jim Blackman; She is survived by her sister, Linda York of Amarillo.
In closing, Betty had one special request she wanted shared on this occasion: that this be a day of celebration, because she is now rejoicing with her Lord and Savior. She fought the good fight, kept the faith, and now rests in her eternal reward.
