Blane Alan Thornton passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2026, at the age of 28 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Blane was the beloved and cherished son of Kent and Denise Thornton. He is survived by his sister, Brittany Wilkins, and her husband, Justin Wilkins; his grandparents, Jim and Annette Doche; his nieces, Harper and Hattie Blane Wilkins; his nephew, Jackson Wilkins; and several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind many close friends who will treasure his memory.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Oleta Thornton.
Blane was inquisitive by nature and gave his whole heart to the things he cared about. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed skiing, rock climbing, hiking, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He was extremely generous with both his time and his money, always willing to give to others in quiet and meaningful ways.
After graduating from college with a BBA in Finance, Blane went to work for PEG Companies, a Private Equity Real Estate Group in Provo, Utah. During his 4 short years with the company, he worked his way up from analyst to Vice President of Investments. Blane was very proud of the work he did and the path he was building for himself.
Blane will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his kindness, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His loss is heartbreaking, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
