It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carla Cay Clift, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who left us too soon. Carla was a vibrant spirit, known for her infectious laughter and her ability to light up any room she entered. She was truly the life of the party, bringing joy and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her love for her family was boundless. Carla’s legacy will live on through the countless memories she created with her family, filled with laughter, love, and adventure.
Carla was preceded in death by her father and mother, Carl and Geraldine Lavendar; her son, Kyle King; her brother, Larry Moore; nephews, Casey Barton, Scott Moore, and Michael Nymeyer.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin King and fiancée Torie Parks, Kalvin King and wife Amy; her four sisters, Trina Flores and husband Thomas, Roxanne Singleton, Denise Anderson, and Regina Karl and husband Mike; her ten grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.
Carla’s bond with her sisters was testament to strength of family, and they will cherish the moments they shared. Carla’s outgoing nature and her ability to connect with others made her a treasured friend to many. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel special and included, and her kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her.
As we celebrate Carla’s life, we invite all who loved her to remember the joy she brought into our lives. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, and her memory will be a source of comfort and inspiration.
Memorial services for Carla will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Rector Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home.
