Carol Sue Pierz (Feist) age 80, of Amarillo, TX passed away on November 2, 2026 at MC’s Care home from dementia.
Carol was born on December 28, 1945 in Steubenville, Ohio, to Charles and Helen Feist. Carol grew up on Virginia Avenue with both parents and her siblings. Swinging on the front porch she viewed the Ohio river. She would cross the railroad tracks, pick up coal and catch fireflies. She even swam across the river. She graduated Catholic Central. While in high school she competed in roller skating. During the summer she would visit her Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Frank in New Jersey. At age 13 she met her future husband Frank at her Aunt and Uncle’s fish and chips restaurant. At age 18 she decided to leave Ohio and call NJ her home. Frank and Carol wed on October 22, 1966. They lived a beautiful life together until his death in 2024.
Frank and Carol moved to Amarillo Texas in 2007. Carol went on to work as a full-time mom, van driver, home health aide, and teacher’s assistant where she was known for her dedication to the disabled, autistic and elderly. She cared for people like her own.
Outside of her work and daily responsibilities, She met her best friend of 50+ years, Marie Kelly at the Hazlet Pool Club. Carol enjoyed life on Bucknell Drive and Euston Drive and her dear neighbors. She loved her husband, kids, grandkids and great-grands. She enjoyed listening to to Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Anne Murray and Jon Denver. She also enjoyed checking in on her grand pups. Whether she was organizing overcrowded closets, gardening, or spending time with the people she cherished most, she had an unmistakable gift for welcoming people into her home.
Above all, Carol was a devoted wife to the love of her life Frank until his death. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Her greatest pride and joy was her family. For the last 2 and a half years her kids have shared her care.
