Celso Borunda Márquez, de 55 años, de Cactus, murió el viernes 15 de agosto de 2025. Se llevará a cabo un servicio de rosario a las 6:00 p.m. el jueves 21 de agosto de 2025 en la Capilla Conmemorativa de los Hermanos Boxwell, 500 N. Maddox. La misa fúnebre se llevará a cabo a las 10:00 a.m. el viernes 22 de agosto de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica de San Pedro y San Pablo con el Padre Luis López oficiando. El entierro seguirá en el cementerio Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Los arreglos son de Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.

Celso nació el 6 de abril de 1970 en Chihuahua, México, hijo de Guillermo Borunda y María del Carmen Márquez Borunda. Creció en México antes de mudarse a Nuevo México por un corto tiempo. Había vivido en Cactus los últimos 30 años y cultivaba y trabajaba como peón de rancho. Disfrutaba pasar tiempo con sus hijos y nietos. Le encantaba pescar, cocinar afuera  y pasar tiempo al aire libre.

Le sobreviven tres hijas, Carina Reyna y su esposo Guillermo de Dumas, Kristal Enríquez y su esposo Celso de Dumas, y Karen Borunda de Cactus; un hijo, Francisco Borunda de Dalhart; padres, Guillermo y Carmen Borunda de México; dos hermanos, Víctor Manuel Borunda de Denver, Co. y René Borunda de México, tres hermanas, Quilina Borunda de Missouri, Magdalena Borunda de México y Brenda Borunda de Denver, Co.; y dos nietos, Adriel y Elias.

Celso Borunda Marquez, 55, of Cactus, died on Friday, August 15, 2025. A rosary service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 22, 2025 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Luis Lopez officiating. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.

Celso was born on April 6, 1970 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Guillermo Borunda and Maria Del Carmen Marquez Borunda. He grew up in Mexico before moving to New Mexico for a short time. He had lived in Cactus the past 30 years and farmed and worked as a ranch hand. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved to fish, cook out, and spend time outside.

He is survived by three daughters, Carina Reyna and husband Guillermo of Dumas, Kristal Enriquez and husband Celso of Dumas, and Karen Borunda of Cactus; a son, Francisco Borunda of Dalhart; parents, Guillermo and Carmen Borunda of Mexico; two brothers, Victor Manuel Borunda of Denver, Co. and Rene Borunda of Mexico, three sisters, Quilina Borunda of Missouri, Magdalena Borunda of Mexico, and Brenda Borunda of Denver, Co.; and two grandchildren, Adriel and Elias.
