Charles Clifton Rogers

December 30, 1941 — June 9, 2026

Charles Clifton Rogers, 84, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on June 9, 2026, in Euless, Texas, following a courageous battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount. Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Charles was born on December 30, 1941, in Taloga, Oklahoma, to Robert and Lola Belle (Payne) Rogers. He graduated from Borger High School in 1960. A proud veteran, Charles served in the National Guard from 1961 to 1977 before transitioning to the U.S. Army Reserves, from which he retired on December 30, 2001. After working various jobs as a young man, Charles found his lifelong career with the U.S. Postal Service, ultimately retiring as a supervisor in December 2001. Deeply committed to his colleagues, he was an active member of the National Association of Postal Supervisors, serving as President, Vice President, and finally as Treasurer until health challenges led him to step down in 2023. Charles was also a longtime, faithful member of the First Baptist Church.

Beyond his professional dedication, Charles was a man of many passions. He loved fishing, bowling, listening to music, collecting small cars, and watching old Westerns. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends. He was a devoted and loving father to his two daughters, always willing to do absolutely anything for his family. Known as a fantastic storyteller and an inveterate jokester, Charles brought joy to every room. He proved to be an awesome Grandad, a proud great-grandfather, and a wonderful Uncle to his many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He also held a deep affection for his two beloved dogs, Bear and Bella.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his three siblings, Robert Rogers, Jr., Gene Rogers, and Juanita Roberts; and his beloved wife of 52 years, Linda (Haas) Rogers. Together, Charles and Linda shared a love for adventure, embarking on cruises and taking countless road trips to the mountains—memories made even sweeter when their daughters were young.

Charles's wonderful spirit is carried on by his daughters, Shari Duke and husband Joseph of Amarillo, TX, and Adrena Moreno and husband James of Euless, TX. He was an awesome Grandad to Caitlin (and partner Cheryl), John (and wife Faith), Madison, Braden (and wife Alysia), and Kayla (and husband Ethan); and a doting great-grandfather to Sophia, as well as to a second great-granddaughter whom he eagerly anticipated welcoming this October. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers who provided exceptional support during his illness: Dr. Tumula and the staff at Texas Oncology; Home Instead (Amarillo and Richland Hills); Gentiva Hospice of Amarillo; and Hospice Plus of Arlington.
