Christy Redrick of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2026.
Private family services will be held.
Christy was born in Dalhart, Texas, on April 11, 1968. She was a beautiful soul with an even bigger heart. She was an amazing woman who loved her family more than anything in this world. Her love was fierce, her heart was generous, and the time she spent with the people she loved was what mattered most to her. Whether surrounded by family, sharing laughter, or simply enjoying the little moments together, Christy found her greatest happiness in being with those closest to her. Above all, she was a proud grandmother who absolutely cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
Christy had a special love for animals and adored her pets, who were truly part of her family. She also had a love for collecting frogs, a little something that made her uniquely her own. And, of course, she was a proud Dallas Cowboys fan who loved cheering on her team. She enjoyed reading and dancing, too. These little pieces of her personality, along with her warmth, kindness, and love for life, are memories her family will forever hold close.
Christy worked as a caregiver with Visiting Angels for four years, where she received the Angel of the Year award. Her caring nature and compassion for others were evident in the way she lived her life.
Christy's life was filled with love for the people and animals who meant the most to her. She will be remembered for her big heart, her caring spirit, and the way she treasured quality time with the people she loved. She was strong-willed and strong-minded, never met a stranger, and had a heart of gold. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave and the memories she created will live on through everyone whose life she touched.
Christy was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, uncle, aunt, and longtime life partner, Keith Ortiz.
Those left to cherish Christy's memory include her parents, Sammie and Dewey VanStory; her sister, Jamie Blaser and husband Steve; her children, Chad Trevino and wife Yvonne, Corey Smiley, and Branan Lawrence and wife Celina; and her cherished grandchildren, Kiara Trevino, Josiah Trevino, Will Lawrence, Mya Lawrence, and Bo Lawrence. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Though words can never fully express how much Christy meant to those who loved her, one thing will always remain true: She was deeply loved, she will be forever missed, and she will never be forgotten.
Forever in our hearts.
