Dannie Charlene Richardson

Dannie Charlene Richardson, 84, of Amarillo, TX passed away December 15, 2025.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 22, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Charlene was born March 23, 1941 in Eldorado, OK to Heber and Nettie Myers Holder.

Charlene spent her childhood in Creta, Oklahoma until they made the move to Vega, Texas where she spent the majority of her life. While in Vega, she was better known as Grandmama and spent her time taking care of kids, grandkids, and her immaculate home. She did venture out to Boys Ranch as a teacher’s aide where she made strong relationships and was known for instilling a healthy fear in all. Her home in Vega was spent with many friends on her back porch, where you would find a picture perfect lawn, served with the best bulldog, her best friend Maggie, and easy conversation filled with laughs. Her later years were spent in Amarillo where her name changed to “trouble” or “precious” and she was often seen bantering with the staff. Charlene was easy to remember and a friend to all. No matter the setting, Charlene, aka. mom, grandmama, trouble, precious, was always the life of the party.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Heber and Nettie Holder; a son, Cameron Trent Richardson; and sister, Janice Gruhlkey; and her best friend, Maggie whom she loved and adored.

Charlene is survived by her son, Trace Richardson and wife Tiffi, son Bret Richardson and wife Terri, daughter Brandy Wood and husband Bryan; grandchildren, Keelan Richardson, Dondi Connelly, Katy Roach, Kinsey Wood, Koby Wood, Kamryn Wood, and Jaret Richardson; numerous great-grandchildren; and a couple great-great-grandchildren, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Brookdale Senior Living, who loved her when she needed it the most.
