Danny Virgil Dawson

Danny Virgil Dawson, 78, of Allen, Texas, passed away on January 6, 2026.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 16, 2026, at First Nazarene Church, 5201 S. Soncy Rd. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Amarillo, Texas. 

Danny was born in Cordell, Oklahoma, on July 26, 1947, to Pauline (Brown) and Virgil Dawson. He was a lifelong coach and educator. He taught Sunday School at First Church of the Nazarene for many years.

Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Dawson; his father, Virgil Dawson; and his mother, Pauline Dawson.

He is survived by his three sons, Brent Dawson and wife Patti, Lane Dawson and wife Nicole, and Chase Dawson and wife Karen; his sister, Barbara Palmer; and his five grandkids, Blaine, Lennon, Hunter, Teagan, and Sloane.
