Danny Lynn Snelson, 76, of Amarillo, died Saturdav. April 20, 2024.

Graveside services will be at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Llano Cemetery with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Danny was born on July 29, 1947, in Amarillo, Texas, to Elsie and R. D. Snelson. He graduated from Boys Ranch. Then worked as a grain operator, a weigh-master and a restorative auto mechanic. He always loved cars, especially the fast ones. Like his Canary yellow ‘64 Chevy Super Sport. That’s how he caught the eye of Sandra Smith, the love of his life. They married in 1968 and started a family soon after.

He is survived by his daughter, Vicky Snelson and partner, Marc Starubing, of Amarillo; his son, Danny Snelson and wife Connie of Arizona; three brothers, Dale Snelson and David Snelson of Amarillo and Bill Snelson, of New Mexico; two sisters, Roberta Lester and Joan Lester, of Colorado; six grandchildren, Joseph Fernandez, Sheena Cline, Ashley Johnson, Daniel Dendy, Kaitlyn Estrada, and Dallas Juarez; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He supported the Salvation Army for many years. He loved his Dog, restoring old cars and watching the 700 Club.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 7 pm on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the funeral home.
