David “Scott” Elliott, 66, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on November 28, 2025.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:30 P.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery East. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Scott was born in Clovis, New Mexico on January 16, 1959, to Thelma “Maxine” (Scott) and Hubert Harrison Elliott. He was raised in the Lazbuddie Community graduating from Lazbuddie High School and Amarillo College with Associate’s degrees in general auto and diesel mechanics, general electrical, and welding. Scott married his high school sweetheart, Janet Hopper, in Muleshoe, Tx. Early in their marriage he was a John Deere parts man for Dent Farm Supply, Earth Tx, Dent / Rempe, Muleshoe, Tx, and Herring Implement, Friona, Tx before buying a Matco Tool dealership. He spent some time as a catastrophic insurance adjuster for State Farm, adjusting claims for Hurricane Hugo and Hurricane Andrew victims. After that his love of farming called him back. He worked as a custom harvester for Vieth Bros Custom Harvesting, Amarillo Tx until his retirement in 2016.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Maxine, and his sister, Connie Denise Height.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Elliott; their daughter, Kyla Middleton; their son, Russell Elliott and spouse Brandi, all of Amarillo, Tx; his brother, Ronald Elliott and his wife, Linda; his brother, Darrell Elliott; their 5 grandkids, Cailyn, Lillyanah, Jordan, Madelyn, and Sam; several nieces & nephews; and one Buddy dog.
Scott had a strong but private relationship with God that sustained him throughout his chronic pain journey
