David Yates

David Arlen Yates, 88, of Amarillo, TX passed away on February 11, 2026.

David was born to Erby Yates and Cordie Cotton in Dallas, Texas on June 30, 1937, he worked at Pantex and then retired.

On August 27, 1955, he married Joy Charleen Brown in Booker, TX at her parents’ home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Charleen Yates.

Survivors include his son, Kelly Yates and wife Adina of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, Kandi Dolan of Milwaukee, WI; sister, Wanda and brother Philip and eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, TX.
