Amarillo

Debbie Curtis, 66, of Amarillo, TX passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 16, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Kitt Rudd and Blain Jackson will officiate.

Debbie was born in Tulia, TX on December 13, 1958, to Dorman and Winnie Curtis. As a young girl, she enjoyed riding horses (bareback!) with her sister and brother. She was down for any adventure whether it was riding motorcycles, or spontaneous vacations. She lived life to the fullest, and was a force to be reckoned with!

She could be quick to give a lecture then instantly pick you right back up! Debbie loved spending time with her grandkids (and teasing them), being in her swimming pool, and her dogs, Walter and Keno. She really did love everyone around her.

Debbie enjoyed owning the Boondocks and managing Southlawn Liquor for twenty-four years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William “Rabbit” Curtis; a son, William Hugh McGavock; and the love of her life, Victor McGavock.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela McGavock (David Brantley); sons, Brian McGavock, Eddie Riley (Janet), and Blain Jackson (Mandi); a sister, Gloria Trippet (Budd); grandchildren, Aaliyah Torres (Xzatrion Price), Taj Torres, Brylie McGavock, Josh McGavock, Victor McGavock, Lucy McGavock, and Crae Stephenson; and three great-grandchildren, Nova, Ezra, and Zara.
