Delbert Groff

Delbert Bennie Groff passed away on June 15, 2024, at the age of 81, in Amarillo, Texas. 

Delbert was born to Bennie and Alfreda Groff on February 7, 1943. He was a graduate of Tascosa High School in Amarillo and attended Woodbury College. He married the love of his life, Dynett Williams Groff, on May 6, 1972, in Amarillo where they spent the majority of their 52 years of marriage. Together they have two children, Aaron Groff and Dawn Williams.

Delbert had an incredible work ethic, spending 50 years in retail where he greatly valued his staff and customers. He was a people person who never met a stranger. He was kind and ended every conversation with, “Have a blessed day”. Del truly lived life to the fullest and wanted his family, friends, and co-workers to do the same.

Delbert is preceded in death by his father Bennie U. Groff, mother Alfreda Mae Short, stepfather Walter Miles Short and brother Donald Leroy Groff. He is survived by his wife Dynett, son Aaron and wife Melanie and their daughters Kealy and Ashley, daughter Dawn and husband Ty and their 4 children Kobe and wife Karen, Jack, Peyton, and Reese.

Delbert will be honored with a visitation/viewing on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00PM at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be at Paramount Baptist Church, 3801 South Western, on Monday, June 24th at 10:00AM with graveside service at the Cemetery in Higgins, Texas, at 3:00 PM.
