Dennis Mochell Lytle

Dennis Mochell Lytle, 79, of Gilmer, Texas died Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Arrangements by Boxwell Brothers, Amarillo, Texas.

Dennis was born November 12, 1946, in Haskell, Texas to Al and Frances Lytle.

Dennis graduated from Dimmitt H.S. in 1966 and went into the Texas Army National Guard, where he served for 6 years.

He was a heavy metal fabricator and was part-owner in a successful family business, Lytle Industries, with his brother Jerry Lytle and his Father Al Lytle. This helped mentor and mold younger family members along the way.

Dennis had a passion for Mules, Horses, and Large dogs. He was a member of Randall County Sheriff's Posse until he moved from Amarillo, then became a member of Gregg County Mounted Unit. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Al & Francis Lytle, Brother in Laws, Graham Sheffy and Verl Whittenburg and son in law Paul Bemis

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Barbara Lytle. Daughters Marci Bemis and Amanda Williams, son, Shawn Lytle, and wife Kathyrn; brother Jerry Lytle and wife Judy Ann, and sister Karen Sheffy.

He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren, 2 wonderful bonus Step Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
