Donald Edward Jackson, 85, of Amarillo, died Monday, July 27, 2026.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 31, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Murray Gossett officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Donald was born on December 12, 1940 in Hereford, Texas to Jerrye and Clinton Jackson. He loved working on the farm as a youngster. He graduated from Hereford High School and West Texas State University. Donald had worked in the insurance business for close to 50 years. He was member of First Presbyterian Church and participated in NUFF’s.
He was the president of the league of Celtic Nation. He also loved gardening, golf, and traveling.
He married Jeanne Brown on July 9, 1960 in Hereford. She preceded him in death in 2020.
Donald was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Jackson; sister, Patsy Snyder; and two great-grandchildren, Abbott and Avenly.
Donald is survived by his son, Donald Edward “Eddy” Jackson II (Cindi) of Galveston, Texas; his daughter, Donna Jeanne Zepp of Canyon, Texas; his sister, Rebecca “Becky” Harris of Midland, Texas; his sister-in-law, Karen Jackson, of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Ashley Jackson-Oakes, Heidi Wyatt (Casey), and Zach Zepp (Grace), all of Amarillo; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Autumn, Korbyn, Deklan, Vera, Amiah, Emme, Finn, Joshua, Arlo and one-on-the-way; and a great-great-grandchild, Castille.
