Dwight Howe

Dwight Howe, an Army Veteran and longtime resident of Amarillo, Texas passed away on February 20, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount. Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial Chapel, 4111 S. Georgia St. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Dwight was born March 25, 1953 in Raton, NM to Duane and Barbara Howe. He attended Pampa High School before enlisting in the US Army in 1974. He married Ginger Lee Greene on January 14, 1974. While in the Army, he attended Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School, and a Guidance Counselor course. Dwight was a decorated soldier with many awards including, Parachutist Badge, Expert Badge M-16, Good Conduct Medal 3d AWO, National Defense Service Medal, Driver Badge and Mechanic Badge w/ driver, Army Commendation Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Non-Commissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, and US Army Gold Recruiter Badge with 3 Sapphire Achievement Stars. To say he was very successful in his Military career was an understatement. Dwight retired from the US Army in 1995 after years of dedicated service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Barbara Howe.

Dwight is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ginger Howe; sister, Belinda Collier of Conroe, TX; children, Phillip Howe and wife, Pamela of Savannah, GA, Devlin Howe and wife April of Tyler, TX, Kristina Kefalas and husband Jeff of Littleton, CO, and Maleeya Rivas and husband Marti of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Ashlee Feliciano and husband, Brian, Madison Howe, Caitlin Rivas and husband Daniel, Amber Kefalas, Reagan Rivas, Jacob Howe, and Ryan Rivas; and 5 great-grandchildren.
