Elizabeth Ann Burk

August 1, 1949 — June 4, 2025

Elizabeth Ann Burk, 75, of Amarillo, Texas, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 surrounded by family who love her.

A memorial service to celebrate Elizabeth's life is scheduled for Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. All arrangements are under the care of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX.

Elizabeth was born on August 1, 1949, in Boswell, Oklahoma, to Pauline (Davidson) Whisenant of Clayton, Oklahoma, and Willard Clay Whisenant of Arkansas.

Throughout her life, Elizabeth wore many hats with grace and dedication. She was a successful business owner, a loving mother, a cherished "Nana" and "Great Nana," and a steadfast friend to many.

Elizabeth was an avid reader who enjoyed countless hours immersed in stories and games on her Kindle. A true fan, she loved Tom Jones and considered herself his number one supporter her entire life. Her greatest joys, however, came from her family. She delighted in the presence of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and most recently, treasured her weekly time caring for her newest great-grandson.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Don Burk Sr., both parents Willard and Pauline Whisenant and her brothers, Max Whisenant and Dale Lee Whisenant.

She is survived by her devoted children: Tanya Rayfield, Gary Don Burk Jr., and Michael Burk. She also leaves behind two loving sisters, Barbara O’Neal of Oklahoma and Kay Bow of Texas.

Elizabeth's lived her life with love, understanding and compassion for everyone, her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory will be forever cherished. She was, and always will be, loved and honored by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. Though she was taken from us too soon and our lives are forever changed without her, her family finds comfort in knowing their love for her stretches "all the way to the sky and all the way across it."
