Flora Emeline Garms Maserang, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Boxwell Brother Ivy Chapel with Joe Blankenship of Tulsa, Oklahoma officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Flora Emeline Garms was born on October 27, 1938 in Brownwood, Texas to parents Milton Emeline and Obern Jesse Garms. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1957. She married Dwayne Maserang in June of 1958. They lived in Abernathy, Texas from 1962 to 1968, during which time they adopted their children, Reneé and Deverl.
Flora was employed by High Plains Gas in Lubbock, Texas. She also worked as city secretary and judge in Earth, Texas. In June of 1969, the family moved to Amarillo, Texas where she worked in administration for River Road School District, retiring in 1999 after 30 years of service.
Flora was an endowed member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a long-term member of River Road Baptist Church.
She is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Benny, and nephew, Scott.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Dwayne, their two children, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
