Georgia June Crum

Georgia June Cameron Crum, 94, of Amarillo, TX passed away November 15, 2023.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 18, 2023 in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Georgia June was born June 1, 1929, to Joe and Thelma Cameron in Perryton, TX. She was also very close with her dear Aunt Alice Taylor, who played an important role in her life and that of her brother, Jim Cameron. June spent most of her life in Perryton, where she attended the McMillen School and graduated from Perryton High School in 1946. She worked for Ochiltree County Judge Shanks in the tax office, and that is where she met a handsome gentleman named Joe Crum. Joe and June married in 1949. They farmed in Ochiltree County and had three children, Terry, Jan, and Tim. Ms. Crum was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Their home was a place where family and friends came to be fed, both with June’s delicious cooking and with boundless love and encouragement. She attended Full Gospel Church in Perryton, taught Sunday School, and cooked many wonderful meals for the church. June loved the Lord, studied His Word, and built a strong heritage of Christian Faith for her family. She was artistically talented and did many beautiful oil paintings. Most often though, she could be found in her garden tending to her favorite daisies and daylilies. She was truly gifted as a gardener, and friends and strangers alike would stop by her house to ask to take photos or a cutting of her beautiful flowers.

June is survived by her brother, Jim Cameron and wife Kay of Glazier, TX; daughter, Jan Smith and husband Tex of Amarillo, TX; son, Tim Crum of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Joni Paul Harkins and husband Chris of Amarillo, TX, Michael Paul of Amarillo, TX, Steve Crum and wife Jill of Amarillo, TX, and Stacy Gleaton and husband Daniel of Clovis, NM; and several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe; and her son, Terry.

The family wishes to thank the home healthcare and hospice workers who cared for her in her final months. Any gifts in her memory should be directed to Samaritan’s Purse, the ministry of Franklin Graham.
