Gilbert Lynn Box, Passed away peacefully surrounded by family with songs and prayer on June 3, 2025 at the age of 84.
Visitation will be from 5:30-7:00 PM, Friday, June 6, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount. Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Central Church of Christ. Interment will be private in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Gilbert was born on January 20, 1941 in Farmersville Texas to C.G. and Doxie Box. He married his high school sweetheart Charlotte Ann Dunnam the love of his life of 66 years. He was a loving and devoted father to his 3 daughters, Becky Nordyke, DeeDee Martin, and Terri Parish.
A successful businessman who loved to golf, he would say his greatest accomplishment was his family he adored. He lived to spend time with his family, he loved and anticipated every family trip and visit. His most favorite time was Christmas to be surrounded by the whole family together and he would start January first talking about looking forward to the next Christmas. A devoted Christian who’s a member of Central Church of Christ who enjoyed the BK class game nights. He loved attending church and singing. Even when unable to attend in person, wouldn’t miss joining online church and actively singing along and taking communion. He retired from 50 plus years in Insurance.
He is preceded in death by parents C.G. & Doxie; 8 brothers-in-law; and 6 sisters-in-law.
Gilbert is survived by wife, Charlotte Box of the home; daughters, Becky Nordyke (Steve) of Amarillo, DeeDee Martin (Tony) of Houston, and Terri Parish (Pat) of Houston; he was the proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren, Cortney Pena, Kurk Moore, Amy Shelby, Amanda Cassidy, Candis Peikert, Brittany Williams, and Chelsea Bradley; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Curry of McKinney,; brothers, Terry Box (Rendy) of McKinney and Kyle Box (Sharon) of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Barbara Dunnam of McKinney; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers please consider honoring him with a donation to Christian Relief Fund or High Plains Children’s Home.
