Greg Willis, 69, of Dumas, died on June 19, 2026.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
Greg was born on July 3, 1956 in Dumas to J.C. and Bobbie Willis. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1974 and attended West Texas State University. He founded Willis Construction in 1977 and sold his first house at the age of 19. In the early 80’s he expanded and added commercial and light industrial construction to the business which continues today by his son, Justin Willis.
Greg coached T-Ball, Minor League, Major League, and Babe Ruth Baseball teams for each son as they grew up. He coached youth wrestling and served as Texas Amateur Wrestling President for 6 years.
He was a longtime member of Dumas Noon Lions Club and was awarded the Lynn Cherry Award. He was a member of Grace Thru Faith Fellowship. He served on the steering committee to bring Amarillo College to Dumas. He was a founding member of the Dumas Education Foundation and served as its President for several years. In 1995, he was a part of the committee and fund raising for the Demon Dome and donated labor for its construction.
He married Patty Hudson on June 6, 1975 in Dumas.
Greg is survived by his wife Patty Willis; two sons, Jeff Willis and wife Lindsey of Eunice, LA, and Justin Willis and wife Letty of Dumas; four grandchildren, Ali, Jaycie, Madison, and Cruz.; his mother, Bobbie Willis of Dumas; sister, Delora Jarrett of Rowlett; Niece, Karesha Pigman and family of Rowlett; and Nephew, Jimmy Jarrett of Austin.
The family suggests memorial be sent to the Moore County Healthcare Foundation or Dumas Memorial Hospice.
