Services will be held at a later date in Edinburg, TX. Cremation and arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox Ave.
Guadalupe was born on February 5, 1950, in Mission, TX to Manuel Tamez and Estela Botello Tamez. She had worked for many years as a health care provider before moving to Dumas to be with her daughter. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Amada Perez; and a son, Ricardo Chavez.
She is survived by two daughters, Cristina Zavala and husband Ciro of Dumas and Elizabeth Barraza and husband Pilar of Edinburg; three sisters, Serafina Rodriguez, Hermelinda Gutierrez, and Oliva Tamez; two brothers, Juan Tamez and Manuel Tamez Jr., nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
