H.A. “Hoss” Lynch, 91, of Amarillo, TX passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2026, at First Baptist Church in the Chapel with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. Private burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Hoss was born September 11, 1934, in Eddy, TX to Conrad Allan and Lois (Hammons) Lynch. He graduated Alice High School and attended Wharton Junior College for two years. Hoss joined the Air Force and was assigned to Amarillo Air Force Base where he was responsible for receiving UFO reports which began his lifelong fascination with unidentified anomalous phenomena.
He married Sherry Scott and was married for 68 years at the time of his passing. Hoss worked in sales at Cummins Electrical Supply for 35 years. After retirement, he and Sherry delivered Meals-on-Wheels for 17 years and they volunteered for 10 years at Snack Pak 4 Kids. Hoss was an active 45-year member of First Baptist Church and member of the Adult 7 Bible Study group.
Hoss was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. He also followed Professional Bull Riding
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Lynch; children, Chris Lynch and spouse Jenny Lynch, and Jamie Rekdal and husband Randy; and his grandchildren, Coltin and Calli Lynch, and Riley Rekdal.
